Our story

Brief history

The Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) trains students for practical careers in plant operation, engineering trades, and related applied fields. Our Ngong–Matasia campus sits along the Ngong–Kiserian Road in Lower Matasia (opposite Tuskys Supermarket Matasia), serving trainees from across Kenya.

IAT’s slogan — Opening new Horizons — reflects our focus on hands-on skills with modern machinery and industry-aligned programmes. Intakes run regularly, with many technical cohorts reporting in the first week of each month.
